Amsterdam Spring Break March 2009

The 2009 SSDP Spring Break "Sensible Amsterdam Tour", scheduled for spring break 2009, is designed to be an educational, cultural, & recreational tour of one of the world's coolest & most exciting cities. Amsterdam has an amazing amount to offer a visitor - outstanding museums, great restaurants, great clubs, all types of hotels, great coffeeshops & bars! CST is organizing this special tour of Amsterdam with the Students for Sensible Drug Policy (SSDP) so that students can learn about the city. The tour will include the following: o A tour of several coffeeshops o A tour of the Cannabis College o An afternoon canal cruise around Amsterdam (optional) o An evening tour of the Red Light District (optional) o A meeting/seminar with several coffeeshop owners, the Dutch Police, the Cannabis Retailers Association, SSDP staff, & other guests speakers o A trip to the Van Gough Museum (optional) o A trip to the Anne Frank House (optional) o A ticket to Boom Chicago o A breakfast at Barney’s Breakfast Bar The “SSDP Sensible Amsterdam” tour promises to be a unique visit to one of the world’s most interesting and exciting cities. SSDP supporters will gain an in-depth understanding and appreciation for a city and country that has chosen to regulate, not prohibit, the sale and consumption of cannabis products. SSDP's Executive Director Kris Krane invites SSDP’s many supporters to join CST & SSDP on the organization’s first tourism adventure and travel package. "We're excited to give young drug policy activists an opportunity to see what sensible drug policy looks like in practice. We hope that students gain a better understanding of how other countries approach drug policy as a public health issue, rather than a criminal justice issue, and that they return motivated to work for similar policies at home."
